Friday morning I just finished my fix of coffee,

I was just getting excited thinking about the day ahead
including completing my main task before lunch time,

Giving me the opportunity to hit the gym that afternoon
and then go out with some friends later on in the night,

Things were looking good - but it was all to change …

The post man arrived with a few different affiliate commission checks

The first thing that come to my mind was Cha Ching …$$$…

… The first things that come out of Katie’s mouth was:

“Al, I needed to go to the bank anyway, why don’t you take me ?”

That’s all I needed to hear, - ( I knew it was the end of my productive morning )

Ok … it’s not that bad of a distraction, having go deposit some checks to the bank.

but I knew once Katie had my attention, I could kiss good by to my day plans.

And as I was stood in the bank queue thinking just that … Katie said,

“As we’re out let’s go and do a little shopping it won’t take us 5 minutes
and we can get the pictures developed at the same time”

Then she said …

“As we are waiting to pick up the pictures we can have some lunch too”

Then when I got back to the house - My friend phoned saying he was ready to go to the gym. No Joke…

It felt like someone was playing a trick on me, - I swear,

… By the time I got back from the gym, and eat my dinner it was 5pm
and I was meeting up with my friends at 7pm.

Let me just say this before I make a rant…

… It was a great Friday TRUST ME, Kinda relaxing, whilst still
going through a stage of withdrawal symptoms from email

Start of Rant:

Bloody distraction …

… All Friday night all I could think about was how one small
distraction causes a day full of them … and only If can
get myself some work space with no distractions,

Rant to the Gurus …

… These Guru’s sold us the dream of working from the comfort of our own home,

They forgot to tell us it becomes too comfortable to work from home.

… anyway Rant over (almost)

Still out Friday night, I thought to myself, I’ll get up early in the morning
And put a couple of hours in to finish that task off Saturday morning,

… Then it happened Katie woke me up with a cup of coffee and the mail,

I kid you not it was like ground hog day,

Another Check from click bank had arrived and as soon as Katie saw the amount,

She sent me on my travels to the bank again,

In the queue (with a huge smile on my face) I keep mumbling to myself

“ bloody distractions”
 
But I thought about it and said to myself

“ never mind, work can wait till Monday, I’m taking the weekend off ”

(BTW - Taking weekends off is part of my 2008 Goals

So I went home and started cutting out the pictures for our new picture colage.

That’s why we had our pictures developed on the Friday,

It was great going through all the pictures and when I had finished it looked fantastic …

Infact I enjoyed it so much the next day … I started cutting out another one for my mum
and this one was much more fun to make,

Mainly for the fact I knew once my mum saw ‘it’ would bring a smile to her face,

So I dug out all the old photos from her attic, some even dating way back to the 1950’s
of our grand parents and great grand parents, but I dare not cut any of them up.

As I started making this colage it brought up some really old memories and gave me
a great sense of who I am and the direction I want to take in my life,

Most properly the best reality check I have ever taken, (It was deep)

I spent hours that afternoon going through thousands of the pictures, cutting
around them and made this huge colage…

… When it was finished I phoned my mum up at around 10.30pm Saturday night
and asked her if she would pop in,

She thought it was very strange that I would call her at that time but never the less called straight in - really puzzled …

… She could tell from my voice that it was a nice surprise,

But when she saw it … she said o that’s nice …

… It was only when she started looking around at all the different pictures did she realized it was for her …

… then she jump up laughing and screaming in joy (no joke)

It’s most properly the best present I have ever given her,
And we all sat there laughing at all our old photos for hours talking about
all the diffrent memories from within all the different pictures  …

And as well as that …

I think it was one of the best laughs we have ever had looking at all our silly hair do’s we had in the 80 & 90 … haha.
